Abstract: Characteristics and Indicators of the Tourist Circulation in the Ialomița Subcarpathians. Ialomița Subcarpathians represent a physical-geographic unit with real tourist valences, which could constitute a favorability, an opportunity for economic and social development of the area. However, the tourism potential here is not capitalized enough to assert that it can become a direction of development, everything being more declarative, at the stage of desideratum. This aspect is highlighted by the characteristics of the main indicators of tourist traffic, the analysis of these results being the purpose of this study. The index of accommodation capacity utilization, together with the distribution of accommodation by type of units, synthetically reveals a very low valorisation of the tourism resources, a low share in the economy of the area, but also the necessity of identifying and directing the valorisation on the specific elements that give individuality to the area.
